The reasons for this are best explained by example.
Consider a print run of 3000 shirts which requires Boxing and despatching on the same day.
Print run rate is 500 per hour; boxing up and labelling can be also done at 500 per hour.
This means there the total processing time is 12 hrs – 6hrs to print and 6 hrs to box and label.
If printing starts at 11a.m the timeline looks like this

It is the same total hours to process the job, but the completion time is brought forward by 5hrs.
Additionally, by boxing at the point of production, the number of times garments are handled is reduced (e.g. rather than (1) place items on a trolley only to (2) remove them later and then (3) Pick and (4) Boxed – if they are boxed at source, then fewer actions are needed)
