Organising Consignments

Overview

Once accepted, deliveries need to be organised by consignments, i.e. into the respective purchase orders that they correspond to.

Process

1. Separate the outers from the delivery into their individual consignments

2. You will have one or more separated consignments; each one made up of its related number of outers.

3. Check whether each separated consignment is complete

• i.e. – if a consignment has 5 outers; are all 5 of the outers present?

• If a consignment is incomplete – it will need dealing with at a later stage – but worth being aware of it now. so Notify your manager if this occurs

4. Continue until the physical delivery has been separated into consignments.
   

5. The next stage of processing is to identify what type of delivery it is as this determines how it will be dealt with
