What do I need to know before using this chemical?

Aquawash 829 is a general ink cleaner for printing inks and, like any chemical product, precautions for use should be taken:

Exposure to skin or eyes can be damaging and therefore goggles and chemical resistant gloves must be worn.  These are available by every work station in the stencil department and the 4 squeegee washing booths in the printshop. If they are missing you should inform your manager and not handle the chemical.

What do I do with this chemical?

Wearing the protection mentioned above, pour chemical into screen washing machine at a ratio of 1 part chemical 3 part water. Also pour a 50/50 mix chemical/water into the squeegee wash booths. Making sure care and attention is used to prevent spillage.

What do I do if I accidentally come into contact with the chemical?

In case of contact with eyes remove any eyewear, wash immediately and alert your manager so that he can seek medical attention if necessary.  There are three emergency eye wash stations in the stencil department and an eyewash station by every squeegee wash booth in the printshop  If you use this let your manager know so that he can arrange for the eyewash solution to be replaced.

There is also running water in the gents/ladies toilets and the staff canteen.

In case of contact with skin wash immediately with soap and water.

If you have any questions regarding the above please contact your manager or the HR department.
