CPS screen opener K3X is a cleaner for printing inks,
Exposure to skin or eyes can be and irritant or even damaging to sensitive areas
Therefore goggles and chemical resistant gloves must be worn. These are available by every work station in the stencil department.
DO NOT handle this chemical if you have not been issued full PPE appropriate for use with this chemical, If unsure please seek out the manager for advice
Wearing the appropriate PPE mentioned above, wet a rag with a small amount of K3X chemical and clean the stencil area in the screen. Within the stencil department the used chemical rags should be disposed in the blue drum behind the screen washing machine and in the printshop used chemical rags should be disposed in the bins staggered around the printshop.
In case of contact with eyes remove any eyewear, wash the area of contamination immediately with water or the eye wash solution and alert your manager so that he can seek medical attention if necessary. There are three emergency eye wash station in the stencil department If you use the eye wash solution you must let your manager know so that he can arrange for the eyewash solution to be replaced.
In case of contact with skin remove any clothing soiled with the product and wash the area of contamination immediately with soap and water.
There is also running water in the gents and ladies toilets and the staff canteen.
