What do I need to know before approaching this chemical?

Oceansolve is used at the two blowout stations in the printshop for spot cleaning. Like any chemical product, precautions for use should be taken:

Exposure to skin or eyes can be damaging and therefore any items that require treating need to be kept behind the Perspex window, whilst the garment is being treated.

What do I do with this chemical?

Wearing Googles and gloves (PPE) pour the chemical from the container into the spray container using a supplied funnel. The chemical should only be used once it is in a spray container and within the protection of one of the spot out booths.

What do I do if I accidentally come into contact with the chemical?

In case of contact with eyes remove any eyewear, wash immediately and alert your manager so that he can seek medical attention if necessary. There are emergency eye wash stations in the printshop. If you use this let your manager know so that he can arrange for the eyewash solution to be replaced.

There is also running water in the gents/ladies toilets and the staff canteen.

In case of contact with skin wash immediately with soap and water.
