Picking for Fulfilments.

  1. From Ipad Dashboard, Click Picking to open Picking List Layout

  2.  The Picking List shows jobs allocated to you that require picking - sorted by Group Pick reference

Note: Sorting by group pick may include items that are required for future dates. Worth sorting by Date Required to check to which are required as priority.
  3. Decide which fulfilment(s) you are going to work on
  4. For more advanced / experienced staff assess the complexity of the pick as outlined in step 5) For  staff with less experience proceed to step 6)
  5. Click By Location to assess the locations and quantities needed per location.
This opens the pick stock screen which lists the items required, which locations hold the item and in what quantities

In the above screen-shot you can see that it is a single item in one location and all the location balance is needed.
As there is a single item needed from one location  - smart relocate makes sense.

However, in situations where you require the whole quantity  of multiple items from a location, it might be more efficient to relocate the whole bay contents to your temporary location rather than cycle through the pick requirements that Smart Relocate function. If you will use his method, note the current time, and once you have relocated the contents skip forward to step 13) of these instructions.

See the topic Relocating Contents of a Storage Bay for instructions regarding moving items from one location to another.

  6. Note the current time.
  7. Chose Smart Relocate either
    1. for a single fulfilment (i.e. at the individual line level)                                  or/
    2. at the Group Pick /  header level to apply to a series of fulfilment which have been grouped for common location picking
  8. Smart Relocate function will prompt you to scan the location of where you will place the items required for 1st pick. Scan the location barcode of where you intend to move the pick requirements onto (i.e. a trolley or temporary location)
  9. The ipad will then display the pick requirement/location for the item that is the most efficient to pick first

For example, in above, 11295 of the required SKU 552429 are located in HP-23, and required quantity from the location is 1.
The image of the SKU required will also be displayed
  10. Visit the displayed storage location(s) and physically pick stock requirement.

  11. Once the advised quantity has been relocated, click Move to record that the quantity you picked has been moved into the new location.

  12. Committing the move will cycle the pick window to the next SKU required for the pick.

Ensure to update box end labels if your picks result in revised stock balances in locations.
Where practical, condense, consolidate, relabel, relocate residual stock balances.

  1. Continue to Assemble the required items onto the new picked location (trolley/pallet)

  2. When all the items required to satisfy the fulfilment(s) have been committed the page will return to the picker list.

  3. Sanity check that all required items have been moved to the pick location by clicking By Location.

You should see that the items you have picked are showing in the temporary pick location you selected at the outset of the smart relocate function.

  4. Note the total time taken to pick requirements.

  5.  If Picking Charge Field ticked ? – Add Picking charges of the time taken. – Ensure you choose the Type “Picking”  from the dropdown value list

Note: The minimum charge for Picking is a duration  of 10 mins, and then 5 minute increments thereafter. For example, if your pick took 18 minutes, record 20 minutes.

  6. Update Packed By field to "TBA" to set 1st Pick status green - indicating fulfilment is ready for packing.

  7. Physically relocate the picked fulfilment items to the packaging staff area.

  8. Electronically relocate  fulfilment's global location field to same location as items were placed - (trolley / temp location)
