Fast Tracking

Overview

Fast Tracking is the most efficient method of dealing with the checking and/or picking of related jobs at source, making it unnecessary to separate the goods from the related paperwork prior to checking in.

In essence it bypasses the cross referencing phase of processing.

Only certain consignments are eligible to be fast tracked

 

Process

Fast Tracking consists of the following activities

 

  1. Locating the matching internal electronic record. By definition this will exist as it is a prerequisite for a consignment to be fast tracked.
  2. Electronically Add/ Record Delivery Information:-



  1. Taking a photograph of the paperwork and upload it on the delivery record as a pre-check image

  2. If the owner of the items is a client, then send an owner confirmation email  that the items have been received




  3. Once done - the delivery** can be subject to the next stage of delivery process - checking.

** Note

There is an exception to this. Blank stock that has been received for Print on Demand / Webstore business has a different workflow.
